Microchipping

Microchipping allows vets and shelters to find your pet in the event he or she gets lost.

The procedure is simple. The veterinarian injects the microchip under your pet’s skin between the shoulder blades. The chip’s unique identification number is registered with the AKC. With this microchip, you'll never lose your pet!

For your pet, the procedure is quick, painless (no sedation is necessary) and can be done during a regular office visit, or if you prefer, during most surgical procedures.

Your pet may lose collars and tags, and ID tattoos can blur or fade over time. But with a microchip, your pet's vital information can not be altered without your permission.

We use the AKC Companion Animal Recovery system for these reasons: a one-time enrollment fee, free record updates, and live operators 24/7/365. AKC currently has 3,500,000 members enrolled. They are a non-profit organization who fund veterinarian student scholarships, disaster-relief efforts, and canine search and rescue grants.
