We now have the resources to help your pet maintain its best physical health. These resources include state-of-the-art laboratory analyzers that enable us to diagnose diseases and infections in as little as 15 minutes, as well as a locally based veterinary laboratory that can provide STAT results in as little as 1 hour.
Since our patients cannot tell us where it hurts, and they often mask their symptoms, we use these laboratory analyzers to find early signs of disease or infection. By utilizing the technology available to us now, we are able to diagnose problems early and start treatment immediately. Prior to surgery, we can run bloodwork to test for enzyme levels of the kidneys, liver and other organs, a test which helps us determine your pet’s ability to process the anesthesia. We can also diagnose other diseases such as diabetes, kidney and liver disease, and thyroid problems.
Early detection of disease or infection allows us to more effectively treat your pet, and thus greatly increase your pet’s quality of life and longevity. So in order to maintain your pet's safety, we run pre-anesthetic testing prior to any surgical procedure.
