BOARDING POLICIES

The employees of Kildaire Animal Medical Center appreciate the opportunity to care for your pet. In an effort to expedite your check-in and allow us to provide accurate, quality care for your pet, please adhere to the following boarding procedures. If you have any suggestions please feel free to call us. We practice sanitation procedures and preventative medicine. The most important means of preventative medicine is routine annual vaccines and check-ups. Please provide us with this information by either bringing a copy of your records, or have your veterinarian's office call or fax us the information.

VALUABLE INFORMATION

* We require dogs to be updated on DHLP/Parvo, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines. (We require that Bordetella be current within six months of the boarding date.) We also recommend that all dogs be on heartworm preventative year-round.

* We require all cats to be current on Rabies and FVRCP vaccines.

* To ensure the health of your pet as well as our other guests, all pets are checked for fleas and ticks when admitted for boarding. If external parasites are found, a minimal charge for treatment bathing will be added to your discharge bill.

* Everyone loves a clean dog--so if a pet is extremely messy during their stay, he/she will be bathed before going home. A minimal charge will be added to your discharge bill.

* Any chain, prong, or oversized collar should be removed from your pet before admission to the kennel.

Pets will be ADMITTED and DISCHARGED only during regular office hours. We understand in some instances people moving to our area may be arriving late. In these instances we will provide after hour's admission at an additional charge of $40.00 Every pet in our care must have a boarding check-in sheet filled out by owner. Boarding dates, emergency numbers, contact person, requested services, items left with pet and owner's (or responsible party's) signature are required. Go to Boarding Check-in Form.

Please advise your contact person that you have left his/her name and number with us.

PET'S REQUIRING MEDICATION or SPECIAL CARE

If daily medication is administered to your pet, there will be a $2.50 - $12 per day charge. We will administer medications in Veterinarian/Pharmacy prescribed bottles only. All bottles must be clearly labeled with prescribing veterinarian's name, name of medication, and pet's name. Current dosage must appear on label. Legally, we are required to adhere to labeled instructions on all prescription medications. Any label changes require a veterinarian signature.   Up

PETS REQUIRING SPECIAL DIETS
We accept outside food for a pet needing a prescription diet. Meals should be packaged in individual daily plastic baggies labeled with pet's name, date and a.m. or p.m. Due to storage limitations we will no longer accept large bags, cans, buckets, etc. of food. We offer high quality food selections including Purina EN (chicken based) dry, and/or canned. Unless your pet requires a prescription food or has a sensitive stomach we ask you to allow us to feed our food.  Up

PET'S BEDDING
We have plenty of beds, blankets, and towels for your pet's comfort, so we ask that you do not bring your pet’s bedding from home. Please understand that while your pet may NEVER soil his bedding at home, sometimes in a boarding situation he/she may feel the need to "MARK" his/her bedding. We discourage you from bringing toys during your pet's vacation, but you may bring one toy (not one of his/her favorites, please) that has been labeled in permanent ink with the pet's and owner's names. Kildaire Animal Medical Center does its absolute best in safe guarding your pet's belongings but CANNOT guarantee or replace them from destruction or loss.   Up

CHECK-IN TIMES/CHECK-OUT TIMES
For your convenience, check-in is anytime during our regular business hours*:

Like a hotel, we now have a check-out time at noon (12 p.m.) Monday through Saturday. If your pets are checked out by that time there is no charge for the day.

Monday through Friday, if your pets are picked up between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. there is a half-day charge of $10.00.

If your pets are picked up after 3 p.m. there will be a full day charge. There is no pick up after 12 p.m. on Saturdays.

On Sunday, check-out time is between 4-5 p.m. and there will be a full day charge.

* We do ask that you arrive 30 minutes before closing to allow us ample time to observe your pet during the settling-in period and so that we may contact you in case there are any concerns.

HOLIDAY DEPOSITS
During our three major holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's, we require a $25 deposit for all reservations. This policy was implemented due to the number of "no-shows" in the past. You may have been one of our valued customers we had to turn away only to find that we could have accommodated your pet after all. Deposits are due when reservations are booked. Deposits are refundable ONLY if reservation is canceled at least seven (7) business days before the start of the holiday. Deposits are applied to your pet's boarding bill. Book holiday reservations early!  Up
